Summer Magic Returns To The CW


The CW Network has set its Summer 2018 schedule and the magical dynamic duo of Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Masters of Illusion all return with new episodes in June.  The fifth season of the comedy magic series Penn & Teller: Fool Us returns  Mondays at 8:00pm ET/PT while Masters Of Illusion will be seen on Fridays at 8:00pm ET/PT.

The competition series Penn & Teller: Fool Us premieres Monday, June 25. The show is created and produced by 117 PRODUCTIONS and September Films (part of DCD Media), with executive producers Penn Jillette, Teller, Peter Adam Golden, Andrew Golder and Lincoln Hiatt.  A special one off episode Penn and Teller’s April-Fool Us! was broadcast on 1st April 2018 as a precursor to Season five.

The first two seasons of Fool Us were hosted by Jonathan Ross. Alyson Hannigan has hosted the series for the next three seasons, including the upcoming Season 5. The first season of Fool Us was filmed at Fountain Studios in London, England  and at the Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas Season 2 onward.

Fool Us is a magic competition in which magicians perform tricks in front of American magician-comedian duo Penn & Teller. If Penn & Teller cannot figure out how a trick was done, the magician or magicians who performed it win a five-star trip to Las Vegas to perform as the opening act in Penn & Teller’s world-famous show, also at the Rio Hotel & Casino.

Masters Of Illusion makes its season debut with back-to-back new episodes Friday, June 29 (8-8:30pm ET/PT and 8:30-9:00pm ET/PT). The show comes from Associated Television International with executive producers David McKenzie, Gay Blackstone, David Martin and Al Schwartz.

Masters of Illusion was originally broadcast on PAX TV from 2000 to 2001 and was performed on the grand stage at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The show was revived in 2009 and broadcast on MyNetworkTV. In 2012, MOI was presented as four different specials and run in syndication. The series was revived by The CW with new episodes in 2014, featuring new performers and hosted by Dean Cain.The CW has renewed the show every year since then and it is now entering it’s 7th season.
