The S.A.M. Launches An Online Magic Club
What is V1.1?
The Society of American Magicians has developed a virtual assembly in order to provide all S.A.M. Members an opportunity to attend a monthly meeting. There are many individuals who cannot attend a local meeting due to either not having one nearby or other obligations that take precedent over attending a meeting. Now there is a monthly meeting where any member who wants to attend can do so online. All members can interact through a chat room while live feeds of those leading the meeting are broadcast at the same time. Also all meetings are archived. So if you can’t attend the meeting live you can view it at any time you wish on The Society of American Magicians website. In our inaugural year, we are also hosting an online lecture series.
This special S.A.M. Member benefit is being kicked off by the past national president of the S.A.M. Bruce Kalver and will take place this Sunday, September 18th 2016 at 7:30 pm EST. What’s in the Lecture?
Bruce’s lecture on V1.1 will not only include Tech Talk, but he will explain his takes on some of his favorite pet tricks including The Shrinking and Growing Head Spiral, McComb’s Color Changing Silks and if there is time, some of the special effects he created for various plays and musicals. There will be plenty of time for questions and comments.

Celebrating his 50th year of performing magic, Bruce has travelled the world performing on cruise ships, dinner theaters, corporate shows and private parties. He was taught by his grandfather, Samuel Woolf, who was an assistant and builder for Houdini. Samuel also did work with Hardeen,
Bruce has been showcased and interviewed on television, in newspaper articles both locally and nationally, and has performed magic on the radio. He has acted as a magic consultant for the Tony Award winning Trinity Square Repertory Company as well as for numerous other professional, college, and amateur theatre groups for whom he performed or taught magic for their productions and created special magic effects.
Bruce is a regular performer at The Magic Castle, and has lectured for The Academy of Magical Arts as well as The Magic Circle along with many magic conventions including Blackpool, PCAM, S.A.M., SAMCON, NEMCON, to name a few.
He has published many books and DVD’s on both magic and balloon art. His Shrinking and Growing Head Illusion has become a classic with magicians.

This is wonderful. I live in the midwest 2-3 hours from several Assemblies and Rings; am active duty Navy and even when I am stationed in a more populated area it can be difficult to attend meetings. BZ to SAM!
